Being one of the many commuter-less home office employees, I found myself plagued with an all too common problem – getting stuck in my office at all hours of the day and night, whether working, researching or writing. Even with the many laptops at my disposal, detaching any of them from the multiple USB, Video and Printer connections became a daunting task. The laptop just was no longer the portable machine for which it was designed.

Enter the new Netbook concept. The Netbook is designed for portability, and while you can connect it to many peripherals, my choice is to use it in an ultra-portable blackberry-like capacity. With its 2 pound and 10 inches in width, I can easily pop it in my purse and go anywhere, or sit in front of the TV with the family and do a bit of research.

I chose the LG over the other available models mainly for the reputation of the name and the 160 Gig hard drive, although the added bonus of Bluetooth compatibility did not hurt the cause. The screen is a generous 10 inches from corner to corner and scrolling through the web is easy and seamless. The processor is micro in size and much less than most laptops currently offer, however the priority here is size and web use, and it seems more than willing to stand up to the task of that. (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/202845/intel-atom.html)

The graphics are sharp and crisp and easy to read, and the keyboard fit nicely into my hands enabling me to squeak out my 70 words per minute if needed. Connectivity was a breeze and one of the higher end features of the LG.

Overall this is a great little accessory; small enough to take anywhere and sharp enough to assist me in eeking out more blogs, books or emails on the go. Perfect for the business person who spends way too much time in front of the computer screen and isolated. Hey, we can only solve one issue at a time here. Happy surfing!!

We sampled many appies and shared the Sea Bass, and the service and the food was EXCELLENT! The Maitre’ D recommended wine for each of us, one white and one red, and they were outstanding choices….exactly what we were looking for, to compliment the food and delight our own palates. The following night I went back solo for the Churrasco, which was unbelievably tender, served over yuca frites. Jay, the owner wandered in and I introduced myself and complimented him and the chef on a couple of GREAT meals. Turns out he is opening, the Kellog’s Diner in Brooklyn. Quite a contrast in restaurant styles, but I will check it out next time in New York.
